Job Description: Compliance Clerk

Central Michigan Care’s (CMC) Compliance Clerk is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all necessary documentation including personnel files, employee documentation, and payroll documentation for insurance compliance. Compliance Clerk will manage inter-agency and external audits and maintain and seek continuous improvement in implementing the training and procedures needed to maintain a high level of compliance throughout the company and its departments.

Job Functions (includes, but not limited to the following):

  • Demonstrate an approachable, professional manner

  • Communicate confidentially with employees and address any ethical or compliance concerns within a department or division

  • Maintain organized and easily accessible records of compliance materials and employee documentation

  • Ensure that all staff have completed and are current with all trainings and checks

  • Review time sheets and employee documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance of those documents

  • Complete various compliance reports as required by multiple state agencies

  • Consult with Community Mental Health and Department of Health and Human Services of Michigan on compliance related matters and audits

  • Research and provide various documentation for agency audits

  • Periodically conduct audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards

  • When compliance issues arise, conduct investigations to discover corrective action plans and oversee the implementation of those plans

  • Compose and distribute documentation to educate staff and others on how to complete trainings and other compliance related issues

  • Design and implement processes and programs to improve compliance in environmental, ethical, and other areas

This position requires the following:

  • Detail oriented

  • Knowledge of reporting and record keeping

  • Communication and leadership skills

  • Computer proficiency, including Word and Excel

  • Phone and email communication skills

  • Understating of urgency and accuracy in reporting and meeting company deadlines

  • Experience dealing with medical insurance compliance related issues

  • Prior experience as a CLS and/or ABA provider staff preferred

  • In depth knowledge of State of Michigan Provider Training Standards, reporting requirements, and record keeping preferred

  • Associates degree or better preferred

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
